Fixed Fees

Application Fee

Application Fees can be referred in to the Second Schedule of Communications and Multimedia (Spectrum) Regulations 2000 and its amendments, as follows:

  1. Application for AA: RM 60 per application
  2. Application for variation of an AA: RM 20 per application
Variation is not allowed for the following items:
    1. Change of AA holder;
    2. Coordinate of station; and
    3. Frequency Band.
  3. Application for certified true copy (CTC): RM 10 per page

Assignment Fee

Fees for Apparatus Assignment can be referred to in the First Schedule of the Communications and Multimedia (Spectrum) Regulations 2000 and its amendments. The Schedule consists of Table A (Fixed fees) and Table B (Variable fees).

Fixed fees

Type of Apparatus Annual Fee (RM) Notes
Trunked Radio Base Station 120 Applicable for NFP(I) licensee(s) only
Private Use Station 240 Applicable for private network application only
Mobile Station 60 Applicable for private network application only (for mobile/portable/handheld devices)

Variable fees is subject to the frequency and bandwidth:

Frequency Band Mode of Communications Variable Fees for Bandwidth of 6.25 kHz (per frequency channel) (RM) Variable Fees for Bandwidth of 12.5 kHz and 25 kHz (per frequency channel) (RM)
30 MHz to 3 GHz Simplex 110 130
Duplex 220 260

Example of AA fees calculation (For Licensee)

AA Fees calculation for trunked radio application by Licensee

  • The frequency for trunked radio base station (transmitter) is assigned by way of AA.
  • The associated access device is by way of Class Assignment (CA).
  • AA fee is only applicable for base station.

Example:
Trunked Radio at Bukit Pelindung by a licensee (Public) using 3 duplex frequencies in the frequency band 410 MHz to 430 MHz with bandwidth of 25 kHz:

Service No. of Application Type of Apparatus No. of Frequency
Trunked Radio  1 Trunked Radio Base Station 3 (duplex)
Application Fee (RM) Fixed Fees (RM) Variable Fee (RM)
60 120
[260] x [3] = [780]
[Variable Fee per frequency] x [No. of Frequency] = [Total Variable Fee]
Total Annual AA Fees (RM)
[60] + [120] + [780] = [960]
[Application Fee] + [Fixed Fees] + [Variable Fee] = [Total Annual AA Fees]

Example of AA fees calculation (For Private Network)

AA Fees calculation for trunked radio application for Private Network

  • The frequency for trunked radio base station (transmitter) and its associated access device are assigned by way of AA.
  • AA fees are charged for base station and its access device (mobile/portable/handheld).

Example:
Base Station at Port Klang for private network communications using 3 duplex frequencies in frequency band 380 MHz to 399.9 MHz with bandwidth of 25 kHz and 90 units of mobile:

Service No. of Application Type of Apparatus No. of Frequency No. of Mobile Unit
Trunked  Radio 1 Private Use Station 3 (duplex) 90
Application Fee (RM) Fixed Fee (RM) Variable Fee (RM) Mobile Station Fee (RM)
60 240
[260] x [3] = [780]
[Variable Fee per pairing of frequency] x [No. of Pairing of Frequency] = [Total Variable Fee]
[60] x [90] = [5,400]
[Mobile Station Fee per mobile unit] x [No. of mobile unit] = [Total Mobile Station Fee]
Total Annual AA Fees (RM)
[60] + [240] + [780] + [5,400] = [6,480]
[Application Fee] + [Fixed Fee] + [Variable Fee] + [Total Mobile Station Fee] = [Total Annual AA Fees]
